Getting to Martha's Vineyard

The most important thing to understand is that Martha's Vineyard is an island. Guests travel to Massachusetts first, then continue by ferry to Oak Bluffs.

Important Travel Note

Your trip has two major parts.

1Travel to Massachusetts

Fly into Boston on August 5, 2029.

2Continue to the island

Travel to Hyannis, then take the ferry to Oak Bluffs.

On the Island

Getting around

  • The bus is described in Trina's notes as dependable.
  • Ubers may be less reliable, especially in August.
  • Some people rent bikes.
  • Getting back to Oak Bluffs from other towns may require more planning in August.
If You Arrive Early

Luggage storage

Trina's notes list Dockside Inn for luggage storage at $10 per bag for the day. It is across from Sandbar.

Plan extra time. Ferry travel is part of the trip, not a quick airport transfer. Build buffer into both arrival and departure days.
